Neuro Rehabilitation

Blood Pressure Exam

Neuro Rehabilitation is a process that aims to optimize a person’s participation in society and sense of well-being. It focuses on people of all ages who have suffered neurological injury or disease, such as Stroke, Brain Injury, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Spinal Cord Injury or Dementia.

We also offer LSVT BIG which is a specific 4-week therapy programme aimed at treating people with Parkinson's Disease.

Physical Rehabilitation

Patient with Healthcare Nurse

Physical Rehabilitation is devoted to evaluating and treating clients with functional impairment due to physical injury or disease. This may be due to Orthopaedic Conditions, Burns, Joint Replacements, Surgery, Amputations, Nerve Injuries, Fractures or General Weakness following lengthy hospitalisation or a medical illness.

COVID-19 has affected many people and may leave them with chronic fatigue and respiratory symptoms which affects their functioning in returning to their everyday occupations.

Paediatric Rehabilitation & Early Intervention

Mother and Baby

Paediatric Neuro Rehabilitation & Early Intervention focuses on treating babies and young children with movement and coordination difficulties or developmental delays which could be as a result of birth complications, trauma, injury, preterm birth or disease.

In-Hospital Rehabilitation

We have rooms at Midstream Hill Medical Park and provide acute care to adult and paediatric clients at Midstream Mediclinic. The goal of Occupational Therapy in acute care is to improve functional status and safety to prevent physical and cognitive complications. Occupational Therapists work closely with the multidisciplinary team and assist clients and family with improving function, identifying their equipment needs and safe discharge planning.

Functional Capacity Evaluations

Through the process of FCEs, the physical, mental and functional level of work that an employee can
perform is established. The results of FCEs determine whether an
employee can perform work-related tasks after being diagnosed with an illness or suffering an injury.

Occupational therapists can assist employers by
determining if employees are temporarily or permanently unable
to work by carrying out FCEs, and by recommending appropriate
reasonable accommodations aligned with the relevant legislative
